TeenTech is an interactive event that was pioneered by former Tomorrow’s World TV presenter Maggie Philbin, who wanted to dispel myths about science and technology careers being considered “difficult” “geeky” or “boring!” The event, which Pegler has supported since its launch in the Yorkshire region, aims to help 8-18 year olds see the wide range of career possibilities in Science, Engineering and Technology.
Each year Pegler supports the event by providing an interactive exhibit and company ambassadors that are there to incite discussion and encourage the teenage visitors to get hands on with engineering. Once again, Pegler is keen to support schemes which inspire the future generation to preserve vital skills within the local and regional business community achieved through training and education.
Pegler has been involved from the start of TeenTech in Doncaster and through engagement with students and organisers has helped shaped the event to what we feel provides valuable experience and insight into jobs of today and the future at a crucial time when choices at school are beginning to be made that could influence a person’s entire career.
