Introducing Tekk
An initiative that benefits young people and communities across South Yorkshire by being the conduit between young people and the world of work. Through educational talks, experiences and on the job learning Pegler helps to provide a myriad of opportunities for young people across the region.
AWARD WINNING PROJECTS
This support is often given in the form of an ambassador whereby, a volunteer member of staff visits a participating school and offers their experience in the world of work. They work with a group of children who are given a task to form a ‘company’ create a corporate image, design a model, build and test a prototype, make a presentation and then enter the final competition against other participating schools. Over the 10 week programme our Pegler volunteer imparts their experience of time schedules, co-ordination and cooperation to support the children in their task with the ultimate aim of ensuring their award winning project is delivered on time.
