the evolution of success
Today we would like to highlight one of our longest-tenured mission critical employees, Gill Jeffs. Gill joined the company 41 years ago and has experienced the Aalberts integrated piping systems UK business transition and develop to where it is today.
“I have seen many changes over the years after starting in the inspection department where every fitting that was manufactured at the time was 100% inspected. Later quality improvements were put in place and quality then became an integral part of the manufacturing process meaning that inspection was no longer required. I then moved into the Quality department where SQC inspection, was implemented into all the production areas along with other quality tools used to improve manufacturing such as FMEA (Failure, Mode and affect Analysis).”
Gill currently manages the assembly area in Manvers. Here she is responsible for planning and prioritising production, purchasing parts required for the assembled items and ordering stock from the warehouse required to re pack into customers own brand product.
“The challenges faced each day is getting product into stock in a timely manner, to fulfil customers’ orders and ensure there are no shortages wherever possible. The integrity of the raw material stock used, is key to ensure required parts are always on hand.
Aalberts integrated piping systems UK has evolved massively over the years, to become the successful company it is today and will no doubt continue to do so, using new product development and its commitment to grow.”
When Gill is not working you can find her and her husband spending time on their passion for Motorbikes.
“My husband and I have a motorbike, a Suzuki 1250 Bandit and love to go abroad when we can, touring Europe. We follow MOTO GP racing and have managed to get to the Catalunya GP in Spain, Assen GP in Holland, Mugello GP in Italy and Brno GP in the Czech Republic.”
